3 Years Here {+A Giveaway!}

Y’all, I cannot believe it has been 3 years since I started this blog.  I’d like to think that I’ve come a long way since my first post, but I’d be lying if I didn’t think I had a long way to go.  This space has become such a huge part of my life, and I never dreamed, even last year, that I would have the opportunities and experiences thanks to this creative outlet.
This year is just a tiny bit different than years past, though.  This year, I’m planning a rebrand in August.  I’ll be changing my blog title after months years of deliberation to something that seems a little more authentic to my voice and my passions.  For the past year, I’ve vaguely hinted at tapping into those and really taking this space to another level.  My thoughts and visions were confirmed when I met with a photographer turned friend who said “reading your blog and talking to you face to face is completely different.  Your blog is missing your personality”  That was my final push to rebrand and the brainstorming became a little more real.
When I started telling friends, both who are just personal friends, and other blogger friends that I had finalized a name, the consensus was the same.  I got a “That’s it!  You have to do it!”  I called my parents, who, for a while were pretty nervous about me having a blog and putting my personal life on such a public space.  But, when I called and said I’m changing my blog name, my mom let out an excited squeal, and my stoic dad said, “Yep.  You’re gonna do that.”
All that dialogue for this final part.  Starting in August, this space will be “I’m Fixin’ To.”  It’s the Southern phrase I’ve said my whole life and really embodies where I want this space to go.  I’m fixin’ to do.  I’m fixin’ to wear.  I’m fixin’ to make.  I’m fixin’ to see.  I hope you stay with me through this.  I know changing a blog title and brand isn’t always easy, but I think it’s time and I am so over the moon about the way this is going.
And what better way to announce a rebrand than with an over the top photo shoot at a gorgeous historic house, in a  gold sequin dress completed with cowboy boots.  Y’all, this is who I am, and I can’t wait to let you in a little bit more to my life in the coming weeks.
Major thanks to my girl Em who always takes my vision and runs with it and never, ever thinks I’m ridiculous.  Thanks to the gals at the Mims House for letting me use their gorgeous space.  And to Michelle for making me feel so fancy for a day.

    Congratulations! I tried blogging, just for fun, and gave up after a couple of posts it is a lot harder than it looks! Such pretty pictures!!! I love posts about decorating, travel, fashion, and vacations!
