Today, DG and I celebrate our 3rd marriage anniversary. I don’t even really know where to begin in describing the emotions that I feel when talking about DG. In our 6 years as a couple, I thought we would have this marriage thing down pat, but there were times where it was harder than I could have ever imagined. But I’ve never been more grateful to have DG as my partner in life and to support me when I needed him.
In honor of this marriage anniversary and the craziness that we are experiencing with moving, I decided to do this little post after seeing Jenn‘s from Valentine’s Day. I wasn’t lying when I said I’ve had some of these posts sitting in my queue for months.
•Who’s oldest? He is, by two years
•Who was interested first? Well, he was. Here’s the story of how we met.
•Same high school? Nope, not even in the same state
•Most sensitive? He is definitely more sensitive and sentimental than I am.
•Worst temper? I don’t know that I have a temper, but I am quicker to get frustrated.
•More social? Definitely me, which is one of the reasons why I appreciate him for my hectic social schedule at times.
•Hardest working? We work equally hard, which is why sometimes you read on here that I am missing him
first anniversary trip to Charleston
•More sarcastic? Definitely me.
•Who makes the most mess? Um, me. I am a clutterer by nature, and he is a neat freak.
•Wakes up first? He does for work; I do on the weekends.
•Bigger Family? I have a bigger extended family, but he has two siblings and nieces and nephews.
•Who cooks the most? I do, but I haven’t been doing a great job recently.
•Who cries more? I’m the cryer for sure.
•Better singer? Neither of us wins at this.
second anniversary staycation
•Spends the most? I think on every day things, probably me, but the man loves a trip to Home Depot for power tools
•Hogs the remote? We don’t watch shows in their entirety because he is a channel surfer
•Better driver? I am partial and believe that I am (let me have this, y’all).
•Smarter? Depends on the subject
•Most patient? Oh, I would say DG for most things, but categorically, we are both pretty impatient
•Common sense? Probably me, but it’s a pretty fair draw
•How many years together? We’ve been married for 3 years but together for 6 years
DG, I don’t know how you do it, but thank you for all you do to support me. You’re the best. Love you big time.
