I mentioned in this article last month that after David made the big closet update, we sort of slowed down on home improvement projects. This year, we have been feeling rejuvenated and started making some home decor changes. We have been in our home for almost 6 years now and it has been fun to watch David and me evolve our tastes. For the immediate, here are 7 of my favorite home touches that we have incorporated so far in 2023.
7 of My Favorite Home Touches Right Now
Set of 3 Gold Candleholders
We added a mantle to our primary bedroom and I picked up a set of candleholders. While the set I bought is only available in antique bronze, this set of 4 is in the bronze that we have and is a better price than when I bought the set of 3!
Battery Operated + Remote Controlled Candle Sticks
For the candle sticks mentioned above, I ordered these flameless candle sticks for the candleholders. It comes in a set of 6 with 2 remote controls. The candles can be set to timers, dimmable, and in two modes. It is a much safer option for us for taper candles!
Grecian Bust Pot
I am really into the Grecian bust trend and had been eyeing the two different sizes from Anthropologie. I happened to luck up on two different ones in two different sizes at a local marketplace to add to the mantle in our primary bedroom and then in the office built-ins.
Cream Grass Weave Vinyl Wall Paper
Speaking of office built-ins, I decided to give them a little update earlier this month using this cream grass weave vinyl wall paper. I ordered two rolls and while it did not take the full two rolls, I did have to open the second one. I also used this wall paper installation kit and it was easy peasy! Though, in full disclosure, I did begin questioning my decision as it was a reminder that our walls are *not* even.
Battery Operated + Remote Controlled Picture Light
I mentioned in this article that I picked up this picture light for an area in our house that does not have an outlet and it has been a really nice addition. It is dimmable, able to be set on a timer, and really easy to install. It comes in three different finishes and ships quickly!
Ruggable Re-Jute Runner
The entrance from our backdoors can get really messy really quickly if it is muddy out back. I finally bit the bullet and picked up a Ruggable Re-Jute Runner for the space between our living area and dining area. I am a huge Ruggable fan with the two Grant boys anyway, and this one is super easy to clean. For 15% off your first purchase, use this link!
Faux Tulips
David’s favorite flowers are tulips and I kept seeing these in my recommended for me section on Amazon, so I picked up a set. They are absolutely the best quality faux tulips I have found, and yes, we do have several options in our home currently. They ship quickly, too! I’ll share how we style them once I decide on a jar to display them in. PS, these are 4 of the 6 books I read last month. Check out my reviews here.
