Happy Friday, y’all! Â I hope you’ve had a great week! Â I have a weekend without any real plans other than barre classes and some girl time, and I am thrilled for the change of pace. Â I hope you have some time to relax and enjoy your weekend, too. Â I always look forward to my monthly coffee talks, so here is my February 2019 Edition!
I have a habit of taking a screenshot of things I am interested in trying, whether it’s a song on Instastories, a restaurant, or something I want to remember.  I found one of these screenshots on my phone from my friend, Andrea, who I look to for a variety of recommendations.  This particular one was for a song by the band Lord Huron and oh. my. gawd.  I cannot stop playing them on repeat on Spotify!
There is a new food hall opening in Raleigh, and while the space is still under construction, some vendors are open on modified hours. Â Glory and I went and checked out Locals Oysters Bar and Captain Cookie & the Milkman! Â The food was delicious and the space, even under construction, is beautiful. Â Check it out this weekend!
I love a good Self-Care Sunday, and these products have been my recent go-tos. Â Over on my Instagram, I’m hosting a monthly giveaway of my favorite self-care products, and this month, I’m giving away Sara Happy Lip Scrub, a lip exfoliator brush, and Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm. Â You can find entry instructions under my “Life” highlights!
Other favorites for self-care:
Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Hydration Mask | L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil | Herbivore Body Polish
Herbivore Bath Soak | The Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops | Olaplex Hair Perfector
I’ve been really into true crime documentaries, and there are two I have been pretty rocked by recently. Â The first is the Netflix documentary, Abducted in Plain Sight, which is just baffling and I was left with a lot of questions. Â Then, I have been listening to Dark Water podcast about a North Carolina community that experienced quite a bit of destruction, but also, unsolved murders. Â I’ll be sharing a post about some of my favorite documentaries next month.
I’ve long been a fan of Dolly, but I especially love how she uses her platform for positive messages. Â I admire her Imagination Library and her dedication to literacy to children in rural parts of Tennessee, and around the country. Â She just recently donated 100 million books. 100. Million. Books. Â She is #goals. Â Learn more here.
This article about how girls typically outperform boys in school, but not in the office. Â It’s a fascinating article and a must-read.
This under-eye primer has caffeine in it and it helps de-puff, keeps my concealer in place, and is my new go-to product. Â I cannot recommend this enough!
Last month, I shared how David and I didn’t have any set travel plans yet, but since that post, I’ve been to Surry County for a trip on the Yadkin Valley Wine Trail and we did a staycation at the Carolina Inn. Â This spring, we are heading to Baltimore for the first time, and I would love to hear your recommendations!
I recently purchased this bag for work, and I am loving it! Â It’s a great price, holds my personal and professional items, is sturdy and structured, and even has space for my lap top.
These Rifle Paper Co. desk accessories are giving me all the heart eye emojis!
One bonus favorite this month is Grow Fragrance, a local company based in Durham. Â Grow Fragrance created a modern air + fabric freshener made from 100% plants that is also toxin free. which means no parabens, phthalates, or synthetic petrochemicals. Â Grow is part of the Durham Living Wage Project, cruelty free, and every order offers free shipping and no minimums on return. Â We have been using Lavender Blossom to freshen up our house and it smells amazing!
What are you loving this month? Â I hope you enjoy your weekend! Â See you back here on Monday!
Dying over this photo of that ice cream sandwich – YUM!! Sounds like it’s been a great month so far!
