Good morning & Happy Friday, friends! Â I hope you had a great week! Â I started back to grad school and work is moving right along. Â My belated birthday trip is this weekend with my best friend, and I am thrilled for the getaway + long weekend. Â I am also excited to continue my monthly coffee talk series, and here is the first one of 2019.
I made a commitment to not shop for 2019. Â I have enough clothes, shoes, and jewelry, and while I have been purging, somehow still have a lot of stuff. Â I have been focusing on minimalism, but haven’t followed through in practice. Â I’m following this concept and am looking forward to having more space (and more money) in 2019!
“Take your sons because it’s good for them to see powerful, brilliant women in leading roles.” Â We saw “On the Basis of Sex” about RBG and her husband Marty for my birthday, but I loved this article about why it’s important to take your sons to see the movie.
I am feeling so excited and optimistic about the newly sworn in House of Representatives. Â They did not come to play and I. Am. Here. For. It.
Usually, by now, David and I have planned out our trips for the year. Â I am not sure why, but we just haven’t made any firm plans, and I don’t hate it. Â Here is our wanderlust list from the fall and I’d like to think that maybe we’ll cross a few of those places off this year.
Since I drive a lot for work, I’ve recently been into audio books, so I’m currently listening to this one. Â I mentioned it in this post earlier this week.
I turned 32 on Saturday, and I spent a glorious day of doing nothing of substance after a snowstorm out west postponed my birthday plans until this weekend. Â I slept in, watched the RBG documentary (available on Hulu), napped, and went to a casual dinner with David. Â We’ve come a long way from the year he forgot my birthday to now, where he made me an RBG cake, and gifted me a new robe and a book by QuestLove.
To end the holiday season, I got to spend a wonderfully warm, spring-like day in downtown Raleigh with my bff who lives in Chicago. Â I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her before she headed back to Chicago, and am looking forward to visiting her in the spring to celebrate her 30th birthday.
We’re currently trying to decide how we want to update our flooring in our home office. Â We are leaning towards a white washed laminate flooring with one of the Rifle Paper rugs. Â Stay tuned for more design information as we get continue to finalize our ideas.
I’ve recently started watching Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain on Netflix. Â What an amazing show by a man gone too soon.
I shared a picture on my Instastories of our master bedroom after tidying up from the holidays. Â I had no idea how many comments (also, full disclosure, I hate when people say “I got a lot of comments on this, but I digress), I received on our bedroom. Â I am linking products below the photos.
