I really enjoy an afternoon tea service and the one at Fearrington House is quite charming. Located in the historic Fearrington House Restaurant, it is a lovely way to spend an afternoon, whether you are visiting for a day trip or in town for the weekend. The service includes a delicious variety of finger sandwiches and treats plus unique offerings of tea and wines. Keep scrolling to see more of an afternoon tea at Fearrington House Inn.
Afternoon Tea at Fearrington House Inn
Fearrington House Restaurant is beautifully decorated and a cozy space to enjoy a catch up session over afternoon tea. Their egg salad, pimento cheese, and chicken salad sandwiches are really delicious. I also enjoy their scones and lemon curd, plus their macaroons are outstanding. Their tea selection is also really unique, though I especially like the hot cinnamon or the Fearrington Afternoon.
After tea, be sure to stroll around the grounds to check out the English gardens. They are beautiful any time of the year, though especially in the spring. I also always enjoy checking out the herb garden for inspiration for my own raised garden beds. For afternoon tea, I wore a light weight poncho sweater (a few years old) paired with white skinnies and wedges. I tend to like to dress up a bit for afternoon tea, though a “smart casual” attire seemed to be the norm.
Afternoon tea is offered on Thursdays though Sunday from 12:00-3:00PM by reservation. Book your reservation here.
