There are few things I love more than supporting women owned businesses. I have long admired women entrepreneurs and try my best to support these ventures by promoting through word of mouth and with my financial support when I can. With Mother’s Day less than a month away, I have decided to do a two part series for Mother’s Day gifts instead of just my traditional gift guide. So, today, I am sharing how to get Mother’s Day gift ready with these 10 women owned businesses.
Anchor Beads
I bought my first Anchor Beads at Monkee’s of Greenville after my friend Hillary shared the story of Amber’s business. Amber and her daughter Georgia began making Anchor Beads after Georgia was diagnosed with Leukemia. Now, Amber designs Anchor Beads to honor Georgia’s life and donates 10% to Childhood Cancer Research. You can read more about their story here. I am obsessed with her designs, and luckily for me, some of my shop owner friends (I’m looking at you, Em), have started carrying Amber’s designs. Here are some of my favorites:
Gold Wood Necklace | Horse Hair Tassel Necklace | Coconut Wood Necklace
Milk Street
I met Julie virtually when she reached out to share more about her business. She found me because of a post I wrote where I included information on how to empower women through business. I mentioned in that post that I am taking grad school courses around this topic, and we hit it off. Julie designs nursery furniture for the company she created that is owned, operated, and created by women. You can meet Julie and see how dynamic she is at Tots to Teens in Raleigh on Saturday, April 28 from 12:00-2:00. I’ll be there to meet her in person (after months of chatting on the phone and through email) because I just love her passion and drive to support women! Her furniture would be perfect for a new mama-to-be for Mother’s Day!
Moon & Lola
The first time I ever met Kelly, I was a sophomore in college working at a boutique in Little Washington. I was blown away with her personality, positivity, and creativity. I still have a pair of leaf earrings she hand poured that she left at the shop. I have loved following her through her journey at Moon & Lola and how epic her shop has become. Here are some of my favorite products for Mother’s Day gifts, even for those pet mamas out there.
Pet Box Small | Biltmore Monogram Necklace | Radio City Earrings |Confetti Post Drop Earrings
Mykonos Earrings | Monogram Necklace |Champagne Pajama Pants
Paintbase
If you’ve been here for a while, you may know that I look forward to my standing manicure date at Paintbase with my girl Kham. There is nothing better than a good pampering session at Paintbase. A gift certificate for a signature manicure and pedicure is a perfect gift for a mama who has it all. I find that I like giving gifts that are experiences so we can spend time together versus a material object, so this is perfect. You can see more about the Glenwood South location here and the Morrisville location here. The owners at both sets are some amazing women and I am thrilled I get to work with them!
Parlor Blow Dry Bar
Keeping on point with the experiences gift idea, Parlor Blow Dry Bar in Cameron Village is a great option. There are few things I love better than a good blow out, mainly because I love having my hair washed and I love having someone else style my hair. Parlor rolls out the red carpet by offering everything from Benelux Coffee to blood orange mimosas. Also, they offer Girl Boss days with a blow out, make-up, and head shot option. This would be a great pampering gift before Mother’s Day dinner.

Rifle Paper Co.
There are few gifts I love giving more than Rifle Paper. Anna Bond is one talented lady and I love the variety of gifts offered by her company for every woman. There are options like weekly desk calendars, art prints, notebooks, pencils, market pads, and hardback books. And if you’re looking for the perfect card, look no further than Rifle Paper’s options.
Stylish Living
I am especially partial to Stylish Living since I worked with Ariana and Linda for approximately 2 years. Stylish Living is located in downtown Apex and offers a gift for anyone. There are eclectic and unique options for the mama in your life (including a great selection of Rifle Paper Co if you’re tight on shipping deadlines). Ariana and Linda are helpful in offering suggestions for the hard-to-buy-for as well. I always loved that they take time to curate the items in their shop with items they can speak to since they personally use.
Tabletop Media Group
Kristen and her team offer the best recommendations in the Triangle for places to eat and drink. If you’re sticking with an experience, check out their suggestions on their Instagram and Facebook feeds. I am always looking to them for what to try at restaurants and for whenever new restaurants are opening.
The Flourish Market
Em is one of my favorite friends in Raleigh because of her uplifting and inspiring personality. She is the epitome of the girl you want on your team because she will find a way to make you feel like the most important person in the room. It’s no wonder she is doing so much to empower women through her shop, The Flourish Market. I love following along on her Instastories for her antics, but also for her creativity with announcing new items, how to style those pieces, and the personal styling sessions offered. It’s hard not to smile when watching her stories on the weekend to see how her and her staff personally connect with her customers. And I’m not even touching on the amazing work she is doing with the vendors and companies she supports by empowering women. P.S., she also sells Anchor Beads in the shop! Here are some of my favorites in the store right now:
Akola Earrings | Katie top | Perfect Weekend Maxi
If you use code IMFIXINTO, you get free shipping, too!
The Zen Succulent
I met Megan for the first time when I attended one of her Modern Terrarium classes after the launch of her book. I am 100% obsessed with her shop in Durham and love her plant tips on Instastories. Megan and her mom co-own the shop and are so helpful and kind. I cannot rave about them enough and I always appreciate that they answer my gazillion questions on Instagram DM whenever I need help with one of my plants. Looking for a DIY to do together? Order Megan’s book for a Mother’s Day DIY. Or stop by the shop to do some planting together. Here are some items you can order online.
There you have it. These are some of my favorite women owned businesses with gift ideas in time for Mother’s Day! Stay tuned for part two with more Mother’s Day gift ideas.
xx
I love this post. I love that you support others and these are some great businesses. I love Flourish Market and some of the same ones.
What a great round up of local shops that have great gift idea’s for mom!
What a unique list! I loved the tie in with women owned businesses! I wish my mom lived in this area I would have loved for her to get her nails done at Paintbase!
