Here is some practical advice, including a detailed essentials checklist and a step-by-step guide on how to style bar carts. What Do You Need For A Bar Cart

A solid bar cart includes a top shelf of versatile spirits like vodka, gin, bourbon, and tequila. You do not need every bottle under the sun! Choose what you love or what your guests typically enjoy. I always enjoy stocking my bar with local spirits, and my gin of choice is Durham-based Conniption Navy Strength Gin for extra dirty martinis.
Mixers
Stock your bottom shelf or a nearby basket with essential mixers like tonic water, soda, vermouth, and juices. These let you create classic and custom drinks with ease. Since I prefer a piece of furniture instead of a traditional cart, I keep my mixers in the drawers and cabinet, and keep extra mixers in the kitchen for ease of access! For you dirty martini fans, this is the best olive brine in the game!
Bar Tools
Every well-stocked bar cart needs a good bar tool set. This includes a shaker, strainer, jigger, stirrer, and bottle opener. These tools make mixing drinks more efficient and professional. They also are so pretty if displayed on a bar cart!
Cocktail Napkins
Cocktail napkins are both practical and decorative. Choose designs that reflect your style or the season. Don’t forget that a small stack can elevate the visual appeal of your bar cart. I have a set that I keep in a drawer for easy access, though any themed ones I will pull out for parties or impromptu gatherings. I will say, I love a cloth napkin, so these have been a favorite for our collection.

I change out the decor, especially in the fall and winter. I love including seasonal decor to make a space feel extra cozy and intentional. I will put out fresh flowers from our yard, or pumpkins and gourds during the fall, and then some holiday and winter decor in the winter. An easy way to do this is to update with seasonal glassware or candles. I have some vintage holiday wine glasses from my grandparents, and these are a nice option! I also love Estelle Colored Glass red & green glasses!

- Position your bar cart in the living room or dining room for easy access and as a stylish focal point. David and I put ours in our front room that is an office because we can greet guests with a cocktail or glass of wine from there.
- Use a mirror or art piece behind it to frame your cart. On my list of things to do this year is to update with a small gallery wall.
- Place a small lamp or fairy lights on or near the cart to create a cozy vibe. I opted for a small lamp in our built-ins and then a candle and faux-candle sticks.
