Happy Monday, friends! I don’t know about you, but I cannot believe that October has arrived. How is that possible? I am so excited for what this month has in store, but y’all, it’s going to be a doozy! When David and I sat down to update our calendar, I started working on my time management plan. Despite all of that, I am excited to welcome October with my September 2018 Instagram Roundup!
I have been loving avocado toast with a fried egg and Trader Joe’s everything but the bagel seasoning. Also, my love of Rifle Paper Co. calendars is still deep, so here is my favorite version for 2019.
Hi, my name is Meghan and I’m obsessed with coffee table books. Check out this post for all my favorites, and this J. Jill shirt is one of my go-tos for weekend wear.
I love Whiskey Kitchen for happy hour or for supper with my girlfriends or David. You’ve seen it here before on my Oyster Crawl, as well. Last month, my girlfriend Lauren and I met here for dinner and for a catch-up session and it was amazing. I love eating outdoors this time of year! P.S. I’ve been living in this J. Crew shirt for both work and fun.
I am so grateful that I was able to get to The Bistro at Topsail this summer. It has been heartbreaking to see the continued devastation in eastern North Carolina as a result of Hurricane Florence, and the Bistro is not exception.
I spend a lot of time driving for both work and for weekend adventures, so a good play list is a must.
I took two day trips to Topsail this summer, and love how quiet the beach is and convenient it is to take a day trip to from our house. However, Topsail and so many parts are devastated from Hurricane Florence in Eastern NC. Please, please, please do not forget about these towns and beaches as they begin to rebuild. I will be sharing ways to help after Hurricane Florence in the coming weeks, but you can check out some here in the meantime.
Another one of our favorite beach towns we were concerned about from Hurricane Florence was Bald Head Island.
Cheers to good friends and good food at Whiskey Kitchen.
We spent 3 days in New York City last month, so I shared our packing guide here. We both managed to pack all of our clothing and shoes in our carry-ons, which I must say, I was impressed. I got a few questions from folks about these Spanx leggings, and they are absolutely amazing.
David loves a zoo, so I agreed to go over Labor Day weekend, only if we could have lunch at Billy D’s in the North Carolina Zoo. I must say, this hot chicken sandwich and waffle fries did not disappoint!
We went to NYC for David’s anniversary, birthday, and Christmas present from me, and we just happened to be there over his birthday. I am so thankful that I have him as my partner in life. See more from our staycation at the AC Hotel for my birthday this past January here.
I shared my favorite nail colors for fall here.

One of my favorite aspects of our trip to New York City was heading up to the Top of the Rock without a ton of distractions. My pro tip is to get the earliest slot they have available. It’s quiet and peaceful, and you have some time to yourself before it gets really crowded. This shirt is old, but here is this year’s version + these shoes (similar here) I wore for walking around the city.
How pretty is this bar at Whiskey Kitchen?
I love Letterfolk Boards, and their Instagram account is on point. Usually, I gravitate towards their sarcastic or witty posts, but this one really spoke to me because I have been doing more without paying as much attention to social media. And, y’all, it has been an amazing feeling. While I love the content I create here, I am equally distant on my social media channels these days, because life is too short. Anyone else feeling that way?
We really had the best time on our trip to the city. It had been on our list for a while, so finally being able to visit was the best. We are already making a list of the things we want to see and do when we go back.
What were your favorite highlights from last month? What are you looking forward to this month?
I love your blog and the photography you share. Do you hire a photographer?
It seems like you had a busy September, so I can’t even imagine what October will look like!
